Programmed Cooling Box

The Dan’s programmed cooling box requires no addition of alcohol-based liquids and can deliver a cooling rate of −1°C per minute under −80°C freezer conditions, thereby meeting the optimal cryopreservation requirements for most cell types. Made from high-grade polyethylene foam with an embedded alloy core, this box has no adverse impact on the cryopreservation environment or on other samples stored in the same compartment, ensuring consistent cryopreservation outcomes and excellent experimental reproducibility.

Without the use of alcohol or any other liquids, it ensures a sample cooling rate of –1°C/min in a ultra-low temperature freezer. It is suitable for a wide range of cell types, including stem cells, primary cells, and cell lines. Operation is simple: just insert the cryovial and place it in a –80°C environment. This not only significantly enhances user efficiency and preserves cell viability but also offers greater safety for personnel, the environment, and the samples, making it a hassle-free solution.

How to Use

Place the cryovials containing cells into a programmed cooling box maintained at room temperature, and then close the lid of the cooling box. (Note: If fewer than 12 vials are being used at one time, fill the remaining slots with cryovials containing an equal volume of freezing medium, such as water or culture medium.)
Place the program cooling box in a -80°C freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours to achieve cryopreservation.
Remove the program-controlled cooling box and promptly transfer the cryovials to a liquid nitrogen environment for storage or for subsequent operations.
After use, place the program cooling box at room temperature and allow both the box and its alloy core to return to room temperature before storing for later use.

Precautions

Before placing in the refrigerator, ensure the metal ring is lying flat on the bottom of the container and that the lid is securely closed.
After placing in the refrigerator, avoid packing it tightly against other items; ensure a 2.5 cm clearance all around.
When not in use, store in a dry, cool place and avoid exposure to temperatures above 60°C and ultraviolet light.
It is strongly recommended to assess cell viability after cryopreservation before terminating the culture of the original cell line.
